ADA Transition Project

At approximately 165 intersections throughout unincorporated Sacramento County, install new ADA sidewalk ramps, upgrade existing ramps, upgrade existing traffic signals, and construct other related street, sidewalk and intersection improvements to ensure that accessibility is provided to all users of sidewalks and walkways.

Signal System Upgrade

Replace existing traffic signal controllers, cabinets and other equipment with new state-of-the-practice equipment to improve signal operating efficiency, energy usage, traffic flow and safety. Transit Capital

The County operates morning/evening commuter and mid-day East County Transit Services from Rancho Murieta to downtown Sacramento. This service is provided through a contract with Amador Regional Transit Systems (ARTS). The current bus has exceeded its useful life and requires replacement. SacDOT will use the ARRA Grant to purchase the replacement bus. ARTS will insure and maintain the bus.

Countywide Streetlight Conversion Project

This project will convert existing High Pressure Sodium and Mercury Vapor streetlights throughout the County to energy-saving Induction and LED technology lighting. The project will result in reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and will provide ongoing electricity cost savings and reduced maintenance/replacement costs. Annual cost savings could support additional streetlight conversions to further upgrade the County system. Upgraded streetlight technology will also enhance traffic, bicycle and pedestrian safety.
