With transparency and accountability, the Sacramento County 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is your one-stop shop for information about federal stimulus funding at work in our community.
Given the recent difficult budget cycles, Sacramento County is aggressively seeking project funding that will have a direct impact on our regional economy and programs.
As grants are approved and funded, you will understand where dollars are at work in the community and learn about the stimulus program. Our goal is to exceed the standards of transparency in using taxpayer dollars from the Recovery Act.
As of September 2010, Sacramento County has been approved to receive nearly $91 million in formula funding and our County partners stand to receive an additional $30.7 million. The County has also applied for more than $360 million in competitive grants, many of which have already been awarded.
Stimulus funds have helped preserve valuable programs during the economic downturn, employ construction workers, house the homeless, and launch major infrastructure projects including resurfacing roads and improving streets systems, improve our airport system, and install meters to preserve our water supply. For information on specific grants and projects, view the detailed list of County Grants.
